Highland Dance

Our classes are designed to be fun, educational and a great workout regardless of your commitment level to Highland Dancing. Classes are designed to ensure that the students learn and develop the proper technique, steps and dances necessary for competitions and STDA Dance Exams. Classes are divided based on age, competition and examination levels.

Dancers that wish to compete are expected to attend at least 2 classes per week. Proper training is necessary to develop and maintain a dance standard that is competitive at a provincial, national and international level.

Schiehallion Dancers

The Schiehallion Dancers are a group of talented, dedicated SBJ Dance Studio students who enjoy the art of performing.  The company first formed in 1967, and since over 500 dancers have enjoyed traveling and performing at many venues, the most prestigious being the Edinburgh Tattoo in 1981, 1986, 2003 and 2008.  In 2007 the dancers performed in Belgium, France, Holland and Denmark.  In 2010 and 2011 the dancers were invited back to once again perform in North America’s largest military tattoo, the Virginia International Tattoo.
